Michelle Mazza is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the Owner and Clinical Director of MindFit DBT Center, specializing in adolescent and family therapy. Michelle received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Orinda, California in 1997. She has been intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and DBT-Prolonged Exposure Protocol for the treatment of PTSD and trauma, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and started a DBT program at Walden House Adolescent substance abuse facility in San Francisco. Drawing on her nearly 30 years of experience working in school settings, residential programs, and private practice, Michelle assists adolescents and their families in using DBT to help them in managing impulsive behaviors, improving communication and creating a balance between structure and independence. Founder of the MindFit DBT Center, she leads the team in providing a fully adherent DBT program, including individual and family DBT therapy, skills training, phone coaching and team consultation. Michelle personally provides individual DBT therapy, family therapy, parent consultations and trains other therapists in the effective treatment of suicidal and self-harm behaviors. Michelle also provides training and supervision of associates and licensed therapists through the DBT model within and outside of MindFit DBT Center.

Michelle has a special interest in working with adolescent athletes, and clients dealing with disordered eating and body image issues assisting them in adhering to healthy exercise and weight management programs.
